2016 Society for Range Management Summer Tour and 35 Year Range Team Reunion Schedule

Friday July 22, 2016

Arrive at your leisure – Circle the wagons at the Emerson Bridge Campground just north of the ranch, along the Red Deer River.  There will be a big pot of chili waiting for ya!  (Compliments of IMS, donations welcome)

Come early to ensure you get a prime camping spot and to catch up with old friends?!

Dinner: Informal chili (at Emerson Bridge Campground)

Saturday July 23, 2016 (at the Ranch)

7:00 am – Hot Breakfast on the Grill (before the tour leaves)

8:00 am – Morning Tour Departure (Returning for 12:00 pm):  Morning tour of Ranch, research sites, and local sites. Learn about all the fascinating research being conducted at the Mathias ranch relating to beef genetics, animal behaviour, rangeland and wetland assessments, plus more!

12:00 pm – Buses return to Ranch for special University of Alberta announcement with catered lunch and networking/visiting time.

2:00 pm – Afternoon Tour Departure (Returning for 4:30 pm)

4:30-6:30 pm – Fellowship, R&R and Plant Identification Quiz (for those that wish to partake)

6:30 pm – Catered Roast Beef Dinner at the Ranch

8:00pm – IMS and Range Team Reunion presentations; Campfire and good times to follow!!

If you are unable to spend the day with us, but would like to join us for the evening activities, please plan to be at the ranch by 5:30 pm.  There will be a “dinner only” registration option available.

~9:30 am – Pancake Breakfast @ the campground! We have some superstar pancake flippers lined up!
